The Philosophy of Outdoor Rideshare

When it comes to outdoor sports there are 3 questions one must ask one's self:

    1. Which one?
Surf/ Climb/ Mountain Bike. . . .etc.
    2. When can I go next?
This usually involves a day off work unless conditions are amazing and, well, your job is not as amazing.
    3. How am I getting there?
        Who am I going with?
How much will it cost for gas?
Maybe you don't have a car. Maybe you have a car but none of your friends can go that day. Maybe you have a car, and a friend to go with but you want to cut down on your carbon footprint and cost on gas by taking more people. . . whatever your reason to use outdoorrideshare.com- you are making the right choice. Tell your neighbors, tell your friends, keep up the good work, and always weare a seatbelt.
OutdoorRideshare.com was built with the understanding that these are generally the most important obstacles to overcome when it comes to getting outdoors. Which break you surf, which river you float, which mountain you climb matters, but not as much as getting to a break/river/mountain. If you have a specific place in mind for your trip, include it in your post title. If you have a certain number of people you can take, include that too, I'll leave that part up to you.

How to Create a Post

Step 1: Chose your Sport
Sharing a ride outdoors isn't just about sharing a car, it is also about sharing a car rack. Organizing rideshare postings by outdoor sport gets people together who share a common interest, own the same equipment and are heading to the same environment.
Step 2: Are you driving?
OutdoorRideshare.com is not responsisble for your safety- you are. It is your responsibility to make sure vehicles are properly equipped; It is your repsonsibility to wear a seatbelt. But then again- you are responsible, that is why you are using this site. OutdoorRideShare.com can not be held liable for any interactions between the users of this website.
Step 3: When are you going?
You could be going this Saturday, or every Saturday- either way its your day off. Posts expire when you want them, making it easier for you to rideshare outdoors, every day-off.
Step 4: Email address?
Your email address will not be displayed in your posting!
Your email will be used to verify you are a person and not spam. It will not be given out to other users. To respond to an add, users enter a message and contact information into a text box, then send it to OutdoorRideShare.com- OutdoorRideshare.com emails this message to you. A note to ALL USERS- DO NOT RESPOND WITH YOUR HOME ADDRESS. It is recommended that all in person meetings be conducted in a public place. Do not agree to meet at a stranger's house and do not invite a stranger to your house, even when it comes time to actually share a ride. Instead, meet in the parking lot of a business located in a highly populated, and well lit, area. As outlined in the Terms and Conditions OutdoorRideshare.com is not liable for any adverse events that may occur as a result of using this site.
Post Title
Make it short but descriptive. Some tips are to include exact location, skill level, time you plan to leave, how many are going/how many you have room for. The Post Title will be what post searchers read before clicking on your post. Make it short, sweet and informative.
Post
Include any other information you feel necessary. Tips include: What type of car you have, car rules (smoking, music, seatbelts, gas money,) what type of equipment you ride, how long you have been riding it. Where and when you are going -if not mentioned in the post title- how long you'll stay. Personal information like age and gender etc. etc. etc.
